Crude Oil & Petroleum Refining
We plan and manage petroleum refinery renovations and directly oversee processing operations including atmospheric distillation, vacuum fractionation, and downstream processing units. Our petroleum teams have experience across light sweet, heavy sour, and intermediate crude grades.
Separates crude into fractions at atmospheric pressure — naphtha, kerosene, gas oil, and residue. First and most critical separation stage.
Further fractionates the atmospheric residue at reduced pressure to produce heavy gas oil and vacuum residue without thermal cracking.
Removes sulfur, nitrogen, and metals from petroleum fractions to meet EPA Clean Fuels regulations and downstream processing requirements.
Converts heavy gas oils into higher-value gasoline and olefin products using fluidized catalytic cracking technology.
Sugar & Agricultural Commodity Refining
We manage sugar refinery renovations and directly support sugar processing operations from clarification through final crystallization. Our team has managed cane and beet sugar facilities, producing refined white sugar, raw sugar, and pharmaceutical-grade sucrose to ICUMSA and USP specifications.
Cane is milled or diffused to extract juice, then treated with lime and heat to remove non-sugar impurities through settling and filtration.
Clarified juice is concentrated from approximately 15 Brix to 65–70 Brix using multi-effect evaporator trains, reducing energy consumption.
Controlled cooling crystallization in vacuum pans produces sugar crystals of consistent size distribution — critical for downstream handling and end-product specifications.
Batch or continuous centrifuges separate mother liquor from crystals. Sugar is washed, dried to target moisture levels, and screened to specification before packaging.
Fire assay and cupellation separate precious metals from base metal feedstock, providing an initial bullion of 85–95% purity suitable for downstream electrolytic refining.
Wohlwill process (gold), Moebius cells (silver), and specialized platinum cell electrolysis achieve final purities of 99.95–99.99%+. The most reliable method for investment-grade metal.
Dissolution of gold and platinum group metals in aqua regia (HNO₃/HCl), followed by selective precipitation and reduction — used for complex multi-metal feedstocks and PGM separation.
Used for selective separation of platinum group metals from complex solution matrices — particularly for palladium, rhodium, and ruthenium recovery.
Why precision processing matters.
A one-percent deviation in yield or purity at refinery scale translates to millions of dollars in product value lost or regulatory exposure created. Our processing oversight protocols are designed around zero-tolerance for specification drift — with real-time monitoring, lab verification, and immediate corrective action authority.
Every batch we manage includes documented QC checkpoints, certified laboratory analysis at key process stages, and a chain-of-custody record that supports regulatory reporting, client audits, and commodity market certification requirements.
